GoldNest — Pension & Money Planner

The short version. GoldNest has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Everything you type stays in the app's own storage on your device. We cannot see your income, your debts, your pension figures or anything else you enter, because none of it is ever sent to us. There is nothing for us to sell, share or lose.

1. Who this policy is from

GoldNest is an independent app developed and published by Kevin Afenyo ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information you put into the GoldNest iOS and Android app. Contact: kevinafenyo@icloud.com.

2. Information we collect

None. GoldNest does not collect, transmit, or receive any personal information. Specifically, the app contains:

3. Information you enter, and where it lives

To do its job, GoldNest asks you for figures about your own finances: your income and expenses, debts, savings and assets, SSNIT Tier 1/2/3 details, insurance cover, your age and target retirement age, milestones and reminders you set for yourself.

All of it is written to an encrypted-at-rest database inside the app's private storage area on your device, which other apps cannot read. If you set a PIN, it is held in the device keychain (iOS) or the Android Keystore-backed secure store, not in the app database.

This information is never uploaded. It is not backed up to any service we control. It is visible only to you, on your device.

4. Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint unlock

If you turn on biometric unlock, the check is performed entirely by your device's operating system. GoldNest is told only whether the check succeeded or failed. Your fingerprint or face data is never made available to the app, and we never see it.

5. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally by your device. They are not push notifications, no server is involved, and no message content leaves your phone. You can turn them off at any time in the app's Settings, or in your device's own notification settings.

6. The home-screen widget

The optional widget shows a short summary of figures already stored on your device. It reads them through a shared container on the same device. Nothing is transmitted.

7. Sharing and exporting — things you choose to send

GoldNest can produce three things at your request: a plan summary image, a PDF, and a plain-text summary. It can also export a backup file containing your full plan.

When you tap one of these, your device's standard share sheet opens and you choose where it goes — a message, an email, Files, a cloud drive, or nowhere at all. We are not a party to that. Once you send a file somewhere, the privacy policy of whichever service you chose applies to it.

Backup files can optionally be protected with a passphrase you choose, using AES-256 encryption performed on your device. We cannot recover that passphrase. If you lose it, the backup cannot be opened by anyone, including us.

8. Children

GoldNest is a personal financial planning tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone — of any age — because it does not collect information at all.

9. Your rights, and how they apply here

Data protection laws such as Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and the EU/UK GDPR give you rights to access, correct, export and erase personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose or delete.

You retain full practical control regardless:

10. Security

Your plan sits in the app's private storage, protected by your device's own full-device encryption. You can add an app-level PIN and biometric lock, and GoldNest covers its contents in the app switcher so figures are not exposed in a screenshot preview. No security measure is absolute: keep your device passcode set and your OS up to date.

11. Not financial advice

GoldNest provides educational, illustrative estimates based on the figures and assumptions you enter. It is not regulated financial, tax, investment or legal advice, and it is not affiliated with SSNIT, the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), or any Tier 2/3 trustee. For an official pension projection, request a benefit statement from SSNIT or your trustee. For advice specific to your circumstances, consult a licensed financial adviser.

12. Changes to this policy

If a future version of GoldNest ever changes how information is handled, this page will be updated and the effective date above changed before that version is released. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
