What stays on your device
Your learning progress, quiz results, earned badges, journal and policy notes, the name you type for your certificate, your chosen theme and currency, and any API keys you choose to add are all stored only on your device using standard on-device storage. None of it is transmitted to us — we do not operate any server that receives your data — and it is never shared with third parties by the app. Removing the app, or using Setup → Reset all progress, clears this data.
Optional features that use the internet
Two features are off by default and only work if you choose to add your own free API key in Setup:
- Live market data — if you add a Finnhub and/or Twelve Data key, the app requests public company data (fundamentals, prices, analyst ratings) directly from those services to analyse a real company you search for. Only the ticker symbol you enter and your key are sent, directly to that service.
- "Ask the Academy" tutor — if you add a Groq and/or Anthropic key, your typed question and the app's educational context are sent directly to that service to generate an answer.
In both cases the request goes directly from your device to the third-party service you chose, using your own key. We do not see, receive, proxy, or store these requests or their contents. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies:
The app does not send any of your personal data, progress, or journal content to these services.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics
Clarity contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Children
Clarity is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
